PROJECT NO. CIP 98-621 PIER RENOVATION,
PHASE II - ACCEPTANCE
Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Council:
- Accept the work by Los Angeles Engineering Inc. for
Project No. CIP 98-621 Pier Renovation, Phase II;
- Authorize the Mayor to sign the Notice of Completion;
and
- Authorize Staff to release payment to Los Angeles
Engineering Inc. (5% retained for 35 days following filing
of Notice of Completion).
Background:
On January 25, 2000, City Council approved
the award of the construction contract for Pier Renovation,
Phase II to Los Angeles Engineering Incorporated. The proposed
work included spall repair, epoxy crack injection, expansion
joint repair, anti-corrosion/inhibitor deck coating, lighting,
electrical, waterline, fish cleaning stations, railing, gate,
foghorn, and benches.
The contractor has completed the work to the
satisfaction of the Director of Public Works/City Engineer.
Analysis
:
- The project was constructed according to the plans,
specifications and change orders prepared by Staff.
Therefore, Staff recommends acceptance of the work as
complete.
- The project was completed on schedule.
