ACTION: APPROVED (4-1; COMM.KERSENBOOM ABSTAINED).

4. Resolution(s) for adoption

a. Resolution P.C. 01-2 amending the Circulation Transportation and Parking Element of the General Plan to permanently close Corona Street at its intersection with Prospect Avenue and adoption of an Environmental Negative Declaration.

ACTION: APPROVED (5-0).

5. Item(s) for consideration

a. Resolution P.C. 01-1 approving a Vesting Tentative Parcel Map #26172 for a three-unit condominium project at 636 9th Street.

ACTION: APPROVED WITH MODIFICATIONS (5-0).

7. VAR 00-4 -- Variance to allow guest parking behind open tandem parking and to allow required open space to be located in the side yard at 2059 Monterey Boulevard (continued from January 16, 2001 meeting).

8. CON 00-24/PDP 00-26 -- Conditional Use Permit, Precise Development Plan and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map No. 26219 for a two-unit condominium at 222 Culper Court (continued from January 16, 2001 meeting).

Staff Recommended Action : To continue to March 20, 2001 meeting.

ACTION: continued to 3/20/01 meeting (5-0).

 

9. VAR 01-1 -- Variance to allow the roof elements exceeding the height limit to cover more than 5% of the roof area at 1303 Hermosa Avenue (continued from January 16, 2001 meeting).

Staff Recommended Action : To approve said request.

ACTION: APPROVED WITH MODIFICATIONS (5-0).

 

10. CON 01-1/PDP 01-1 -- Conditional Use Permit, Precise Development Plan and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map No. 26205 for a two-unit condominium at 1144 Cypress Avenue.

Staff Recommended Action : To approve said request.

ACTION: APPROVED WITH MODIFICATIONS (5-0).

 

11. CON 01-2/PDP 01-2 -- Conditional Use Permit, Precise Development Plan and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map No. 26216 for a two-unit condominium at 220 6th Street.

Staff Recommended Action : To approve said request.

ACTION: CONTINUED TO 3/20/01 MEETING (5-0).

 

12. PDP 01-3/PARK 01-1 -- Precise Development Plan and Parking Plan for alterations to an existing retail and entertainment center to accommodate offices, a health and fitness club, and retail uses at 1605 Pacific Coast Highway, Hermosa Pavilion.

Staff Recommended Action : To continue said request.

ACTION: continued to 3/20/01 meeting (5-0).

 

13. L-5 -- Legal determination on whether three dwelling units were lawfully created and constitute a legal nonconformity at 221 33rd Street.

Staff Recommended Action : To direct staff as deemed appropriate.

ACTION: DETERMINATION WAS MADE THAT 3 UNITS WERE LEGALLY CONSTRUCTED (4-0; COMM.TUCKER ABSENT).

  1. Status report on Precise Development Plan amendment to modify the site plan at 635 Pacific Coast Highway, Learned Lumber.
  2. ACTION: STAFF TO MONITOR OVER NEXT 30 DAYS, MEET WITH CITY PROSECUTOR, AND REPORT BACK TO THE COMMISSION (5-0).

  3. Code interpretation re of minor modification at 1641 Raymond Avenue.
  4. ACTION: APPROVED AS MINOR MODIFICATION (5-0).

  5. Request for General Plan amendment and zone change for the west side of Ocean View Avenue between 4th and 5th Streets.

ACTION: THE COMMISSION WILL NOT INITIATE SAID GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT AND ZONE CHANGE, BUT WILL ACCEPT PRIVATE APPLICATION SIGNED BY ALL PROPERTY OWNERS (5-0).

d. Tentative future Planning Commission agenda.

e. Community Development Department Activity Report of December, 2000.

f. City Council minutes of January 9, 23 and 30, 2001.
