SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO 99-00 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)

PURPOSE: AN AMENDMENT TO CDBG REIMBURSABLE CONTRACT SHORTENING THE CLOSEOUT PERIOD FOR CONTRACTS TO 60 DAYS REQUESTED BY THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

Recommendation

Staff recommends the Mayor execute the attached amended contract as stipulated by the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission (CDC).

Background

In April, 1999 the City Council executed a Reimbursable Contract with the CDC that allowed for the expenditure of allocated funds through June, 2000 for the American with Disabilities Act Compliance and Transition Plan.

Analysis

This amendment to the executed contract is necessary in order to expedite the financial closing of the prior fiscal year’s projects and to facilitate annual reporting to the federal Housing and Urban Development agency. In the past the policy has been the closeout period was 120 days.
