AGREEMENT FOR AN IN-SERVICE FIREFIGHTER TRAINING
PROGRAM WITH HERMOSA BEACH FIRE DEPARTMENT
AND EL CAMINO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT

 

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended by the Hermosa Beach Fire Department that City Council approve the "Agreement for an In-Service Firefighter Training Program with Hermosa Beach Fire Department" and El Camino College.

BACKGROUND

The Hermosa Beach Fire Department provides in-service firefighter training to its members. Through this agreement, the El Camino Community College District will furnish unit credits and entitlement to a portion of State funding for firefighter students enrolled through the District's Fire and Emergency Technology Department. The District shall reimburse the Department for instructional services provided at the then-current amount of State revenue per Full-Time Equivalent Students ("FTES") equal to 45% of all FTES generated by these courses.
