Subject: Adoption of 1997 Uniform Building Code

Recommendation:

That the City Council postpone the hearing to a date to be determined.

Background:

The City adopts changes to the Uniform Building Code during each new code adoption cycle by the State. The 1997 code adoption was originally scheduled and advertised for hearing prior to the end of the year. The City has additional time to consider changes to the building code and staff is recommending that the hearing be postponed.
