AB1835 (BAUGH): GRANTS TO PUBLIC AGENCIES TO PAY UP TO 50% OF DIVERTING DRY WEATHER FLOWS TO SEWER SYSTEM RATHER THAN BEACHES

 

Recommendation:

That the City Council authorize that a letter be sent to Assemblymember Baugh and our representative urging support for this bill.

 

Background:

The proposed legislation would authorize the State Water Resources Control Board to pay up to 50% of the cost of building these diverter systems. Even though we are in the process of installing a system to collect and trap dry flows, this would be another option that would be helpful as a funding source for future projects.
