VI. Matters for Commission Consideration

A. Kiwanis Holiday Tree Lot at the Community Center

RECOMMENDATION: TO APPROVE THE REQUEST FROM

THE KIWANIS CLUB TO USE THE COMMUNITY CENTER LAWN

TO OPERATE A HOLIDAY TREE LOT FOR THE 1997 HOLIDAY

SEASON AND SEND ON TO CITY COUNCIL FOR FINAL APPROVAL.

B. Greenbelt Improvements

RECOMMENDATION: TO APPROVE THE GREENBELT

CONCEPTUAL DESIGN TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THEIR

CONSIDERATION AT THEIR MAY 29, 1997 MEETING.

C. Vetter Windmill at Greenwood Park ( click for photo )

RECOMMENDATION: TO RECOMMEND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING

TO CITY COUNCIL:

1. REMOVE THE WINDMILL AND REDESIGN THE PARK; OR
2. REMOVE AND REPLACE THE WINDMILL WITH A NEW OPERABLE WINDMILL; OR
3. REPAIR THE EXISTING WINDMILL.

CONSENT ITEMS:

The following more routine matters will be acted upon by one vote to

approve with the majority consent of the Commission.

D. Lease Renewal: Beach Cities Health District

RECOMMENDATION: TO APPROVE A ONE YEAR LEASE RENEWAL

BETWEEN THE CITY AND BEACH CITIES HEALTH DISTRICT FOR

SPACE IN THE COMMUNITY CENTER.

E. Lease Renewal and Fee Waiver: Community Center Foundation

RECOMMENDATION: TO APPROVE A ONE YEAR LEASE RENEWAL

AND FEE WAIVER FOR THE COMMUNITY CENTER FOUNDATION

FOR SPACE IN THE COMMUNITY CENTER.

F. Lease Renewal: Los Angeles County Bar Association Dispute Resolution Services, Inc.

RECOMMENDATION: TO APPROVE A ONE YEAR LEASE RENEWAL

BETWEEN THE CITY AND LOS ANGELES COUNTY BAR ASSOCIA-

TION DISPUTE RESOLUTION SERVICES FOR SPACE IN THE

COMMUNITY CENTER.

• Request from Sister City Association to Conduct a Hermosa Beach 90th Birthday Community Celebration with Sister City Loreto, Mexico: Approved with the addition of the City's co-sponsorship of the event with the direction to staff to work closely with the Sister City Association.
• Park Improvements: Hermosa Valley Park: Approved with additionalrequests from Council to direct staff to return to Council with an implementation plan for this project and to include Commission subcommittee input in the development of the implementation plan for this project.
