Matters for Commission Consideration

Aloha Days Long Board Surf Contest & Hawaiian Festival

Abel Ybarra addressed the Commission on behalf of the Aloha Days Committee.

Motion: "To approve the request from the Aloha Days Committee to hold their annual surf competition and "Aloha Days" Hawaiian Festival beginning on Saturday, August 11, 2001, and forward the event contract, fee waiver, and funding requests to City Council for final approval. To direct the Aloha Days Committee to amend their vendor liability waiver to property indemnify the event."
Fishman/Bell – All Ayes

Historical Society Museum Expansion

Commissioner Bell removed himself from the discussion and vote since he is a Board Member of the Hermosa Beach Historical Society.

Motion: "To approve the request from the Hermosa Beach Historical Society to expand their museum space into the hallway adjacent to the west side of their existing room and into City storage in the hallway subject to approval by the Public Works Department. To use Room 3 in the Community Center for City storage (Community Resources Department) and as a workspace."
Bell/Fishman – Ayes: Frances, Fishman, Bell Abstain: Hirsch

Motion : "To replace Commissioner Bell with Commissioner Hirsch on the Historical Subcommittee."

Determine whether a computer that has been retired from City service could be donated to the Historical Society Museum.
