6. Items for Commission Consideration

a. Request for Proposals for Construction Management/Inspection Services as needed.

  • Recommendation: It is recommended that the Commission support the Request for Qualifications for Construction Management/Inspection Services as needed.

b. Request for Stop Signs on Ardmore Avenue at 30th Street to Create a 3-Way Stop Control Intersection

  • Recommendation: It is recommended that the Commission support the Request to Create a 3-Way Stop Control Intersection

c. Resident Petition Requesting Trial Traffic Management Plan In North Hermosa Beach

  • Recommendation: It is recommended that the Commission support incorporating the attached petition/request with the petitions previously received regarding 30th Street and Longfellow Avenue and initiate an area-wide traffic study for the area north of Gould Avenue.

d. Review Of Newsrack Location Requirements and Limitations

  • Recommendation: It is recommended that the Public Works Commission work with Staff in re-developing the criteria for newsracks in the public right-of-way.

e. Draft of the MTA Long Range Transportation Plan

  • Recommendation: Review and submit comments.

f. South Bay Cities Strategic Transportation Investment Portfolio Study Report

  • Recommendation: Receive and file.

Response from Caltrans:

  • Why are there raised landscaped medians on Sepulveda Boulevard in the City of Manhattan Beach but none on Pacific Coast Highway in the City of Hermosa Beach? Response
  • Mr. Jim Lissner of Hermosa Beach indicated that he recalls Caltrans having promised to perform a parking study along Pacific coast Highway to determine the impact of the lost curbside parking as a result of a Caltrans project seven or eight years ago. If this is correct, what is the status of the parking study? Letter of request has been sent to Caltrans. Response
