    1. Civic & 2nd Story Theaters Fee Waiver for Sandpipers (PDF File)

      Recommendation: To waive the performance/rental fees, clean up fees and damage deposit fees of the Civic and 2nd Story Theaters for their two general membership meetings and a fashion show between November 2002 and March 2003.

    2. South Park Parking (PDF File)

      Recommendation: 1) to request improved parking enforcement coverage for South Park, and 2) to direct staff to obtain improved signage and disseminate program information to direct park users to alternate parking on 6th Street.

    3. Municipal Pier Ordinance (PDF File)

      Recommendation: To review the City ordinance related to the Municipal Pier in order to consider whether or not to allow dogs, bikes, etc. on the Pier.

    4. Election of Officers (PDF File)

      Recommendation: To elect a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson to serve for a period of one year.

    Recommendation to approve a pole banner program to advertise the Public Works Commission's new "Be Street Smart Hermosa" Program to coincide with advertising banners for Mervyn's Beach Bash and Mervyn's California.
    Action: To approve staff recommendation.

    May 28, 2002

    Recommendation to accept a donation of $400.00 from Jean Lombardo to be used for the promotional materials for the City of Hermosa Beach street safety program.
    Action: To accept donation.

    Recommendation to receive and file action minutes from the Parks, Recreation and Community Resources Advisory Commission of May 7, 2002.
    Action: To receive and file.

    Recommendation to approve request from the Dig for Kids Foundation and So. Cal. Foundation for Children, both Hermosa Beach based non-profit organizations, to conduct a Beach Volleyball Tournament on the North side of the Pier, Saturday, July 27, 2002 from 9am to p5m; waive the participant/spectator fees; and, approve the event contract.
    Action: To approve staff recommendation

    Recommendation to accept the $40,000 donation from the Mervyn's Beach Bash event to fund the following programs: Skate Park staffing-$10,000; Hermosa Beach Education Foundation-$10,000; Teen Center (climbing wall)-$10,000; and, Hermosa Beach Community Picnic-$10,000.
    Action: To accept donation and approve allocations.
