Commissioner's Reports

Senior Activities Subcommittee - Fishman
Plans are being made to meet with two cities regarding activities and potential programs for Seniors.
Community Center Foundation Report - Hollander
The "Last Puppet Show" (held on the last Saturday of the month starting March 2002) doubled in audience size (161) from last month. The next show will be January 25th, 2003.
Museum Subcommittee Report - Fishman/Hollander
The Historical Society is holding a volunteer recognition dinner Dec. 18th. The society is anxious to claim their new storage space in Room 18. Plans for this should be completed in February 2003.
Valley Park Subcommittee Report - Francis
Residents living close to Valley Park would like a walk-through to see the progress being made in the renovations. The contractor will be contacted regarding this request.
City Tree Subcommittee Report - Sigler
There have been no meetings and one will be scheduled after the holidays.

Items Requested by Commissioners

Hollander related the fact that South Park is crowded due to Valley Park being closed. She suggested (due to concerned parents) that more swings should be added. These would be for the older children (the swings already in place are for toddlers). She also had concerns regarding the climbing wall and when it would be put in place.

Other Matters

  1. City Budget Review - Stephen Burrell

Steve gave us a brief overview of the budget process that was much appreciated by the Commissioners.

  2. Clark Field Irrigation System Review - Howard Fishman

Howard invited Mike Flaherty to give us insight into the task of renovating the irrigation system in Clark Field and potential upgrades to the field.
